Little Switzerland Resort Review

Little Switzerland is a pocket-sized ski resort in Slinger, Wisconsin, about an hour from both Madison and Milwaukee. I went there during the winter of 2024 when many larger resorts were only half-open because the weather had been so bad for snowmaking (and almost no natural snow). Little Switzerland was 100% open (although they have a few small tree areas that were totally barren. Even though they’re small, I bet when there is good snow that they would be fun for riding side hits and bumps. The hill is listed at 60 acres, but it’s two-sided, meaning the peak is in the middle, so the runs are very short. In other words, think about a 50-acre resort where the peak is at the edge of the resort boundary. You ride from the peak down to the bottom, at the other edge of the resort boundary. At Little Switzerland, the runs are a couple hundred meters long because you effectively only ever have half of the distance available to ride. They only take a few seconds to get down unless you realllly take a scenic route. The best part about it is the terrain parks. The Happy Park has a gentle rope tow and a bunch of baby-sized park features. These features are almost all ride-on features that are pretty low to the ground (or even flush with the snow). There are usually a lot of young kids in the park, but I felt comfortable trying out features (as a 30-something. The other parks have speedy tow ropes that are fairly easy to catch and ride. They have bigger jumps and bigger features, but still include some ride-on features. The riders are more advanced, so it’s definitely more intimidating to try new features and tricks there.
